Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough in the Tasman Sea is deepening, with gusty south to southwesterly winds, showers and cool conditions affecting NSW. Overnight temperatures for the next few days are expected to be cold and frosts widespread. During Saturday a high will move eastwards over NSW, and showers will become isolated and restricted to the central coastal fringe. Mid next week a cold front is expected to enter the west of the state, with north to northwesterly winds increasing again and showers redeveloping from the west.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers in the southeast falling as snow at times above about 700 metres. Chance of thunder and small hail in the southeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Saturday 1 SeptemberWidespread morning frost inland. Otherwise mostly sunny day. The chance of late showers along central parts of the coastal fringe. Southwest to southeast winds, gusty along the southern and central coast.Sunday 2 SeptemberWidespread morning frost inland. Isolated early showers along central parts of the coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Light winds.Monday 3 SeptemberWidespread early frost inland. Mostly sunny.
