MELBOURNE - Aug 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Bight will move slowly east to be centred near Kangaroo Island late on Friday then east of the State during the weekend. A frontal system is expected to move over western parts of the State on Tuesday and remaining parts on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Showers scattered at times in the far south of the Lower South East until early evening. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds tending light to moderate south to southeast in the west.Friday 31 AugustEarly frost and fog patches inland. Isolated showers south of about Adelaide with possible showers extending over the remainder of the Mt Lofty Ranges and the Murraylands. Cool to mild with light winds tending moderate southwesterly in the southeast.Saturday 1 SeptemberEarly morning frost and fog patches inland, then a fine and mild to warm day. Light to moderate northeast winds, freshening in the west.Sunday 2 SeptemberA fine and mostly sunny day. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds, tending southerly in the far west.Monday 3 SeptemberPossible isolated showers developing over western and southern central parts. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds, becoming fresh in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are forecast to be up to 2 mm.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers extending over the agricultural and southern Pastoral districts during Tuesday and Wednesday then contracting to southern and western coastal areas on Thursday.
