Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front moving over eastern parts of the State is expected to clear the eastern border by midnight. A high will develop over the Bight on Thursday then move slowly east, to be centred near Adelaide late on Friday then east of the State during the weekend. A new frontal system is expected to move over western parts of the State on Monday then extend across remaining parts on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, West Coast district and south of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers with possible small hail over the Lower South East. A cool to mild evening with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Thursday 30 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, scattered over the Lower South East until mid afternoon, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Possible isolated showers over the south of pastoral districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southeast in the west.Friday 31 AugustEarly frost and fog patches inland. Isolated showers over Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the southeast with possible showers extending over the southern agricultural area. Showers scattered at times during the morning over the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light winds tending moderate southwesterly in the southeast.Saturday 1 SeptemberEarly morning frost and fog patches inland, then a fine and mild to warm day. Light to moderate northeast winds, freshening in the west.Sunday 2 SeptemberA fine, warm and mostly sunny day. Possible isolated showers developing in the far west during the afternoon and evening. Moderate to fresh northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday until midnight Sunday are forecast to be 10 to 20 mm over the Lower South East district and 5 to 10 mm over the Upper South East and Mt Lofty Ranges, 2 to 5 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and up to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastorals.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers developing over western parts on Monday then extending to remaining parts of the agricultural areas and south of the pastoral districts on Tuesday. Showers easing then contracting to southern coasts on Wednesday. Warm at first with fresh northerly winds, shifting milder westerly on Tuesday and Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
