Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is moving slowly east and an associated ride over New South Wales is weakening. During Wednesday and Thursday a cold front/trough system will cross the state and another high will move east of the Bight extending a ridge behind the front. Another cold front is expected to move across during Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayThe chance late showers in the southwest. Mostly clear elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 29 AugustIsolated showers in the southeast, mainly on the western slopes of the southern ranges with late snow about the Alpine peaks. partly cloudy in the remainder. North to northwest winds freshening ahead of a gusty westerly change in the west.Thursday 30 AugustIsolated showers across the southern inland, mainly about western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow above 1000 metres. Isolated showers and possibler afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly change extending throughout.Friday 31 AugustThe chance of showers in the far southeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Saturday 1 SeptemberMostly sunny apart from the chance of early showers in the far southeast. Early frosts inland.
