Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1025 hPa over the Tasman Sea will continue to move eastwards. A cold front over the West Coast district will move over central and eastern parts of the State late this afternoon and evening. A stronger cold front will move across the south of the State during Wednesday. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Thursday then move slowly east, to be centred near Adelaide on Friday then east of the State during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated showers extending over the southern agricultural area. A mild evening with fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh southwest change reaching a line Adelaide to Coober Pedy late evening.Wednesday 29 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area, West Coast district and south of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Possible thunderstorms and small hail south of Kingscote to Naracoorte during the afternoon and evening. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong about southern coasts.Thursday 30 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered over the southern agricultural area at first, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southeast in the west.Friday 31 AugustEarly frost and fog patches inland. Isolated showers over Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the southeast, scattered at times during the morning over the Lower South east. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild with light winds tending moderate southwest in the southeast.Saturday 1 SeptemberPossible early morning frost and fog patches inland, then a fine and mild to warm day. Light to moderate northeast winds, freshening in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Saturday are forecast to be 10 to 20 mm over the Lower South East district and 5 to 10 mm over the Upper South East and Mt Lofty Ranges, 2 to 5 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and up to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastorals.Sunday until TuesdayFine and warm on Sunday with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Isolated showers developing in the south on Monday with warm temperatures and fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change extending from the west. Isolated showers continuing over the southern agricultural area on Tuesday, fine further north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
