MELBOURNE - Aug 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough lies over the Tasman Sea associated with a complex low pressure system to the east of Tasmania. A cold front is expected to move through southern parts of New South Wales, bringing strong southwesterlies to far southern parts of the coast early Sunday. A high pressure ridge will extend from the west of New South Wales across the north of the state, with the high pressure centre expected to lie over New South Wales from late Sunday or Monday. This high pressure centre will dominate until another change is forecast move through the state on Tuesday/Wednesday, reaching the coast by Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, clearing this morning. Late showers and thunderstorms on the far northern coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost inland. South to southwesterly winds, turning southeasterly on the northern coast.Monday 27 AugustMostly sunny. Early fog and frost inland. Light winds tending northwest to northeasterly.Tuesday 28 AugustMostly sunny apart from possible isolated showers over the southern inland. Early frost inland. North to northwest winds.Wednesday 29 AugustIsolated showers over the southern and central inland. Fine remainder.
