Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman sea on Tuesday. A weak front will extend over the south of South Australia on Tuesday, followed by another cold front on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers, chiefly over the southern agricultural area, scattered until evening. Cool to cold in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh near southern coasts.Sunday 26 AugustThe chance of isolated showers about southern coasts and the east coast of Eyre Peninsula in the morning. Early fog patches over areas south of Woomera to Broken Hill, chiefly north of about Adelaide. Generally cool with light winds, tending moderate north to northwesterly in the west and south.Monday 27 AugustFine until isolated showers develop about western Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island from late afternoon. Cool to mild grading to warm in the west. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change moving across the west later in the afternoon or evening.Tuesday 28 AugustIsolated showers extending over the southern agricultural area. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the far north with fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change in the west extending throughout during the day.Wednesday 29 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area, West Coast district and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area, with the chance of isolated thunderstorms near southern coasts. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, fresh to strong at times over the agricultural area. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are forecast to be 1 to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area. Less than 1 mm is expected over the south of the Pastoral districts.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered over the southern agricultural area at first. Showers contracting to southern coasts on Thursday evening and to the Lower South East coast overnight, before clearing early Friday. Fine on Saturday. Cool to mild with southwest to southeast winds moderating, turning northerly in the west on Friday and throughout on Saturday. Becoming warmer in the west on Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
