MELBOURNE - Aug 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A front will clip the southeast of the State during Saturday afternoon as a high builds over the northwest. The high will move slowly eastwards to be over New South Wales on Monday. A trough of low pressure will extend over South Australia on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area, possibly reaching the far south of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about the southern agricultural area for a period from late morning through to early evening. Possible isolated morning fog patches in the north and west. Cool to cold in the south grading to mild in the north. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds over the agricultural area, strong about southern coasts at times, tending lighter southwest to southeasterly in the north.Sunday 26 AugustPossible isolated showers about southern coasts during the early morning. Morning fog. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far north. Generally light winds, tending moderate north to northwesterly in the west and south.Monday 27 AugustFine until isolated showers develop about western Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island in the evening. Mild to warm with northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change moving across the west later in the day.Tuesday 28 AugustIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area, possibly reaching southern Pastoral districts. Warm with fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending throughout during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are forecast to be 1 to 5 mm over the agricultural area, reaching 5 to 10 mm about the southern agricultural area, 1 to 2 mm elsewhere.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern Pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area on Wednesday and Thursday. Showers easing and contracting southwards later in the period.
