Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1024 hPa over New South Wales will move eastwards to be centred off the east coast by Monday evening. A front over western parts of the State this afternoon will reach central and eastern districts late this evening and early on Tuesday morning. A series of frontal systems will move across the south of the State during the week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of isolated afternoon showers over the southeast of the State till evening. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms developing this evening about Lower Eyre Peninsula, the far south of Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Mild, grading to warm in the northwest, with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west.Tuesday 21 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times over the southern agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms southwest of Kingscote to Mount Gambier. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds in the east, turning southwesterly and easing.Wednesday 22 AugustIsolated showers extending over the west coast, the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered over Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a fresh to strong westerly change.Thursday 23 AugustScattered showers and possible small hail over Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers over the west coast, northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Isolated thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area. Cold in the south grading to mild in the north, with fresh to strong northwest to southwesterly winds.Friday 24 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and parts of the pastoral districts. Showers scattered at first about the southern coastal districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh westerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday until midnight Friday are forecast to be 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 20 to 40 mm over southern coasts and ranges. 2 to 10 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and less than 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas, contracting to the southern agricultural area on Sunday then to southern coasts on Monday. Cool to mild with moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
