MELBOURNE - Aug 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1024 hPa over New South Wales will move eastwards to be centred off the east coast by later Monday. A front will move across the west of the State on Monday and the remainder of the agricultural area on Tuesday. A series of fronts will move across the south of the State during the rest of the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of isolated afternoon showers over the southeast of the State till evening. Isolated evening showers and the chance of thunderstorms about Lower Eyre Peninsula, the far south of Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Isolated early fog patches in the east. Mild, grading to warm in the northwest, with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west.Tuesday 21 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds in the east, turning southwesterly and easing.Wednesday 22 AugustIsolated showers extending over the west coast, the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered over Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north with light winds, turning moderate to fresh northeast to northwest, ahead of a fresh to strong westerly change in the west.Thursday 23 August Scattered showers and possible small hail over Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers over the west coast, northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cold in the south grading to mild in the north, with fresh to strong northwest to southwest winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are forecast to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 15 to 30 mm over southern coasts and ranges. 1 to 5 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and up 1 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.
