Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving towards New Zealand, while a high near the Bight strengthens a ridge across New South Wales. This high will remain the dominant feature for the next day or two as it moves slowly east. The next cold front will affect the state during Wednesday and Thursday as the high shifts to Tasman Sea and weakens.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine throughout. West to southwesterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Monday 20 AugustWidespread early frost inland. Morning fog patches about the ranges and coast. Otherwise a fine and partly cloudy day. Light and variable winds, tending northeasterly along the coast in the afternoon.Tuesday 21 AugustWidespread early frost inland. Morning fog patches, mainly about the ranges and coast. Otherwise a fine and partly cloudy day. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 22 AugustThe chance of showers in most areas except the northwest, with showers more likely on the western slopes of the ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Thursday 23 AugustScattered showers on the western slopes of the ranges. The chance of showers elsewhere.
