Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A band of high pressure runs from Queensland to South Australia with a front moving off the NSW South Coast. Another front will pass to the south during today, ahead of a stronger frontal system approaching from the west on Thursday. This system will bringing windy conditions and showers to many districts at the end of the week, particularly across the south, before moving to the Tasman Sea and deepening over the weekend. Conditions should ease during Sunday as the next high extends a ridge across New South Wales.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers developing in the southern Riverina and on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1400 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning frost and fog patches in the east. Westerly winds.Thursday 16 AugustIsolated showers developing over the southern inland. Showers falling as snow above about 1200 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwest winds.Friday 17 AugustIsolated showers in southern and central districts, becoming scattered about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Snow showers above 900 metres on the southern ranges. Fine and partly cloudy across the north. Westerly winds, fresh to strong near the coast.Saturday 18 AugustIsolated showers over southern and central slopes and ranges, contracting to the south coast during the day. Fine and mostly sunny across the north. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
