Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough over the northeast will clear early on Wednesday. A series of fronts will move over the south of the State from Wednesday through to Friday. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated late evening showers about the Lower South East coast. Moderate south to southwesterly winds tending northwesterly in the far northeast.Wednesday 15 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, scattered at times over the southern agricultural area during the day. Light early frost over the Northwest Pastoral and Flinders districts. Possible early fog patches in the east. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Thursday 16 AugustScattered showers developing over most of the agricultural area, with isolated showers extending to about Leigh Creek. Possible thunderstorms south of Keith to Adelaide to Wudinna. Cool with fresh to strong northwest to southwesterly winds.Friday 17 AugustScattered showers over the southern agricultural area contracting south and easing to isolated showers during the day. Isolated showers over the remaining agricultural areas and southern parts of the pastoral districts, mostly clearing by evening. Possible morning thunderstorms over the Lower South East. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong about the coasts at first.Saturday 18 AugustIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area with possible showers over the remainder of the agricultural area contracting to southern coastal areas by evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds, becoming light and variable on Sunday then northerly on Monday. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Saturday are expected to be 20 to 30 mm on the Mount Lofty Ranges and 10 to 20 mm about the Flinders Ranges and southern coasts. 5 to 15 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area and up to 5 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers contracting to southern coasts with possible showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild, becoming warm in the north on Tuesday, with mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds freshening in the west on Tuesday ahead of a westerly change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
