Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will remain over northeast New South Wales today, while a weakening trough and cold front move across the state's south. Another front will pass to the south during Wednesday, ahead of a stronger frontal system approaching from the west on Thursday. This system will bringing windy conditions and showers to many districts at the end of the week, particularly across the south, before moving to the Tasman Sea and deepening over the weekend. Conditions should ease during Sunday as the next high extends a ridge across New South Wales.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly frost and fog patches in the east. Isolated showers developing inland near the Victorian border, contracting to the western slopes of the southern ranges in the evening. Late snow showers above 1400 metres in Alpine areas. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 15 AugustIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1400 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning frost and fog patches in the east. Westerly winds.Thursday 16 AugustIsolated showers developing over the southern inland. Showers falling as snow above about 1200 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwest winds.Friday 17 AugustIsolated showers in southern and central districts, becoming scattered about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Snow showers above 1000 metres on the southern ranges. Fine and partly cloudy across the north. Westerly winds, fresh to strong near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDN10031
