Outlook for Saturday, Sunday and Monday After the trough clears the state in the early hours of Saturday, cooler temperatures will again dominate Queensland, chilly in the south with the early frost area expanding again. Any showers remaining in the northeast tropics will be contracting north. By Sunday the winds have eased over most of Queensland leading to extensive early frost over the interior. Isolated showers redeveloping in the northeast tropics as the airflow changes from southerly to southeasterly. By Monday an approaching upper trough will induce a surface trough over the interior. This surface trough will turn interior winds more northerly on the east side, allowing for moisture to flood back in. The combination of upper trough lift and lower level moisture may lead to isolated showers developing over the central interior. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST Tuesday.
