Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over New South Wales is moving slowly to the northeast northeast and weakening. During Friday a strong cold front will cross the state with a low will developing over the southwestern Tasman Sea Friday on night as the front moves offshore. The low is expected to move rapidly towards New Zealand during Saturday as another high moves near the Bight extending a ridge to the northeast of the state.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated clearing showers on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds along the coast, tending light and variable inland. Dangerous surf conditions in the north.Tuesday 14 AugustIsolated late showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges falling as snow above about 1400 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frosts. Northwest to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 15 AugustIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1400 metres. Partly cloudy in the south and mostly sunny in the north. Morning frosts. Westerly winds.Thursday 16 AugustIsolated showers developing over the southern inland. Showers falling as snow above about 1200 metres. Partly cloudy remainder. West to northwest winds.Friday 17 AugustPartly cloudy in the far north. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges with snow showers above 1000 metres.
