MELBOURNE - Aug 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front near Ceduna will reach Port Lincoln around midnight and the Victorian border mid morning on Tuesday. A series of fronts will move over the south of the State from Wednesday through to Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over western districts, extending to central and southeastern parts this evening. Showers increasing to scattered over Lower Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island late evening. A mild evening with fresh northerly winds, strong about the coasts and ranges, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change extending from the west during the afternoon, reaching a line Port Lincoln to Tarcoola around midnight.Tuesday 14 AugustIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered south of Adelaide in the morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 15 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, scattered at times south of about Adelaide during the day. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Thursday 16 AugustScattered showers over most of the agricultural area, with isolated showers extending to about Leigh Creek. Cool with fresh to strong northwest to southwesterly winds.Friday 17 AugustScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, easing to isolated during the day. Isolated showers over the remaining agricultural areas and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong about the coasts at first. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday until midnight Friday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 15 to 30 mm about southern coasts and ranges. Falls of 2 to 10 mm are expected over the northern agricultural areas and up to 2 mm further north.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts on Sunday. Possible isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and far south of the pastorals, contracting south on Monday.
