Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system crossing Victoria overnight will drift away to the northeast during Monday. A series of cold fronts will affect Victoria this coming week with the first expected to approach far western Victoria late Monday. This front is expected to weaken and slide away to the southeast during Tuesday. The next front on Wednesday will follow a similar path however a stronger front will reach western Victoria late Thursday with an associated low expected to form near southern Tasmania Thursday night.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated drizzle in the south clearing tonight but patches of fog developing overnight. Generally light winds.Monday 13 AugustFine apart from morning fog patches. Early frost inland then a mild and mostly sunny day although high cloud increasing later in the west. Light winds tending moderate northerly and later freshening in the west.Tuesday 14 AugustIsolated showers extending from the west, affecting most areas, although mostly dry over the far north and the far southeast. Showers falling as snow above 1400 metres by the end of the day. Mild and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly.Wednesday 15 AugustIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, scattered over the far southwest and about the northeast ranges. Showers falling as snow above 1300 metres. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds.Thursday 16 August
Isolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, tending to rain areas in the southwest at night.
Showers falling as snow above 1100 metres. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. A southwest change reaching the far west at night.
