MELBOURNE - Aug 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system located south of Adelaide will drift eastwards across Victoria later today and early Monday. A series of cold fronts will affect Victoria next week with the first expected to approach far western Victoria late Monday. This front is expected to weaken and slide away to the southeast during Tuesday. The next front on Wednesday will follow a similar path as a stronger front crosses waters south of the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers or drizzle patches over southern and mountain districts mostly clearing in the afternoon. Local early frost over the northeast, then a mostly sunny day over the north. A cool to mild day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Monday 13 AugustFine apart from morning fog patches. Early frost inland then a mild and mostly sunny day although high cloud increasing later in the west. Light winds tending moderate northerly and later freshening in the west.Tuesday 14 AugustIsolated showers extending from the west, affecting most areas, although mostly dry over the far north and the far southeast. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres. A mild and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly.Wednesday 15 AugustIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, scattered over the far southwest. Showers falling as snow above 1400 metres.
