Queensland. The high is expected to move slowly east and weaken over the next
few days. A complex low occurs over the southern Tasman Sea.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday
Dry and cool over the state. Light to moderate SW to SE winds, fresh and
gusty about the east.
Forecast for Sunday
Dry and cool over most of the state. Isolated showers developing about
coastal parts of the southeast. Early morning frost areas about the southern and
central interior, extending into higher parts of the southern tropics. Light to
moderate SW to SE winds, fresh and gusty in the east.
Forecast for Monday
The high moves into New South Wales and weakens. The low in the Tasman Sea
moves southeast and weakens. Winds continue to ease around the state with the
strong winds easing about the southeast coast in the morning. Dry over most of
Queensland apart from very isolated showers about exposed points of the central
and southeast coasts. Day maxima slowly rising but the morning remains chilly
over many parts of the state. Extensive early inland frost again.
Forecast for Tuesday
The high pushes into the southern Coral Sea, extending a weak ridge along the
east coast of Queensland. Isolated showers about exposed points of the east
coast and redeveloping on the northeast tropical coast. Dry through the interior
with extensive early frost over many districts. Maximum temperatures increasing
over the southwest as the winds become northerly.
Forecast for Wednesday
The high weakens further and drifts into southeast Queensland, this will
reduce winds further across the state. Isolated showers along the northeastern
coast, mostly about the North Tropical Coast. Dry through the interior with
extensive early frost over many southern and central districts. Maximum
temperatures increasing over southern and western areas as the winds continue
from the north.
Outlook for Thursday, Friday and Saturday
The weak high continues pushing east through the southern Coral Sea as the
next surface trough moves through the Queensland interior on Thursday and off
the southern coast on Friday. Isolated showers about the northeast coast, fine
elsewhere. Warmer temperatures ahead of the inland trough, with frost areas
decreasing. A new cooler airmass becomes established behind the trough with SW
winds.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
Sunday.
