Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system is deepening over the southwestern Tasman Sea in the response to an upper level trough crossing eastern New South Wales while a high pressure system near the Bight extends a ridge to the east. The low will remain slow moving and deepen further during Saturday before moving towards New Zealand on Sunday as the high moves toward the Bass Strait strengthening the ridge across the state.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
Isolated showers along the coast, adjacent parts of northern ranges and in the far southeast, more frequent between Port Macquarie and Newcastle and falling as snow above 800 metres. The chance of afternoon showers in Riverina. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Cold south to southwest winds, gusty near the coast.
Dangerous surf conditions along the coast. Warning for damaging surf on the south facing beaches.
Saturday 11 August
Isolated coastal showers tending scattered on the central coast. The chance of showers about the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds, gusty near the coast.

Sunday 12 AugustIsolated coastal showers, tending scattered about parts of the central coastal fringe. The chance of showers about the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds, easing near the coast.Monday 13 AugustIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
