Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over NSW will weaken as a cold front moves across southern parts of the State today. Another high will develop over the Bight on Thursday then move slowly east to be near Kangaroo Island over the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers developing over the agricultural area and possibly over the far south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered over southern parts of the southern agricultural area during the day. Possible isolated thunderstorms about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Thursday 9 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area contracting south during the afternoon and evening. Possible isolated morning showers over the western coast and south of the Northeast Pastoral. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 10 AugustIsolated showers southern coasts and ranges with possible showers over the remainder of the agricultural area. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm about the South East district, with 2 to 5 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm further north. Isolated falls of up to 15 mm are possible about the Lower South East.Saturday 11 AugustPossible isolated showers about the south of the southern agricultural. Cool to cold at first with early frost patches inland then a cool to mild day with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday until midnight Saturday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm about the South East district, with 2 to 5 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm further north. Isolated falls of up to 15 mm are possible about the Lower South East.Sunday until TuesdayFine on Sunday then possible late evening showers about western and southern coasts on Monday extending over the agricultural areas during Tuesday morning then clearing during the afternoon. Cool to mild, becoming warm in the north on Tuesday. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds becoming northerly and freshening on Monday ahead of a southerly change in the west extending over most parts during Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
