MELBOURNE - Aug 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front will move across the south of the State tonight as a ridge of high pressure remains in place over northern parts of the State. A new high will move across South Australia during Monday, ahead of a cold front moving across the State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated light showers about southern coasts, extending over the southern agricultural area during the evening. Showers becoming scattered with possible thunderstorms developing near southern coasts this evening. A cool to mild evening with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds.Sunday 5 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area with possible showers over remainder of the agricultural area and the far south of the pastoral districts. Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms south of about Adelaide before sunrise. Early frost patches on the Flinders Ranges and Pastoral districts. Possible fog patches west of Ceduna. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong about southern coasts.Monday 6 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to the Lower South East. Early frost and fog patches inland, then a mild day, tending warm in the north. Light winds inland tending moderate southwest to northwest in the south and northerly in the far west.Tuesday 7 AugustFine and warm. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, turning southwesterly in the west during the afternoon.Wednesday 8 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges, with 2 to 10 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm further north.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Scattered over parts of the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts then easing to isolated showers later in the period.
