MELBOURNE - Aug 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system lies over the eastern Tasman Sea, while a ridge of high pressure remains over northern New South Wales. This ridge is expected to remain in place through the next few days as a series of cold fronts pass to the south. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers on the southern ranges and southwest slopes, falling as snow on the Alps above about 1300 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas inland, widespread about the ranges and slopes, and local morning fogs. Northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across the south.Sunday 5 AugustIsolated showers on the southern ranges and southwest slopes, with snow on the Alps above about 1200 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas inland. Westerly winds.Monday 6 AugustIsolated showers about the southeast inland, with snow on the Alps. Fine elsewhere, with some cloud across the south. Early frost areas inland. West to southwest winds.Tuesday 7 AugustWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes, then a fine and mostly sunny day throughout.
