MELBOURNE - Aug 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation Weak cold fronts will move across the southeast of the State early Saturday morning and during Sunday. Northern parts of South Australia will be dominated by a high pressure ridge. A new high will move across South Australia during Monday, ahead of a cold front moving across the west of the State on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers about southern coasts and ranges, extending over the southern agricultural area during the evening. Showers becoming scattered with the chance of isolated thunderstorms near southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild with moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh about southern coasts. Light and variable winds over the interior.Saturday 4 AugustAreas of morning fog, mainly over the west coast and the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to western and southern coasts in the evening. Mild inland with light winds, cool to mild about the coastal districts with moderate southwest to northwest winds, becoming fresh northwesterly about southern coasts during the afternoon.Sunday 5 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, scattered south of about Adelaide. Early frost patches on the Flinders Ranges. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong about southern coasts.Monday 6 August Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to the Lower South East. Early frost and fog patches inland, then a mild day, tending warm in the north. Light winds inland tending moderate southwest to northwest in the south and northerly in the far west. Tuesday 7 August Fine and warm. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, turning southwesterly about the far west coast late evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm about southern coasts and ranges, with 2 to 5 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm further north.
