Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the eastern states will allow a series of weakening fronts to pass over southern parts of South Australia in the coming days. Northern parts of South Australia will be dominated by a high pressure ridge. A new high will develop near the western border on Monday and move steadily eastwards to be centred over the eastern states in the evening.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area. The chance of thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula and near southern coasts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a westerly change moving over the State from the west, reaching the eastern border around midnight.Friday 3 AugustIsolated early morning thunderstorms near the South East coast. Isolated showers near southern coasts and over the Lower South East, becoming scattered with isolated thunderstorms in the evening. The chance of isolated showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Early fog patches over the agricultural area. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the west and south.Saturday 4 AugustIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area clearing early morning, but the chance of isolated showers persisting near southern coasts during the day and evening. Mild inland with light winds, cool to mild about the coastal districts with moderate southwest to northwesterly winds.Sunday 5 AugustIsolated showers chiefly over the southern agricultural area, scattered in the morning near southern coasts and over the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to northwest winds, moderate to fresh near southern coasts.Monday 6 AugustIsolated showers near southern coasts and the Lower South East, clearing in the evening. Cool to mild with winds turning light to moderate northeast to northwesterly. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon through to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area, 1 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 15 mm about southern coasts and in the Lower South East district.Tuesday until ThursdayFine on Tuesday, then isolated showers developing near southern and western coasts on Wednesday evening, extending over the agricultural area on Thursday. Becoming mild to warm on Tuesday and Wednesday with freshening northerly winds, ahead of a southwesterly change in the far west later Wednesday, extending throughout on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
