Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system lies over the eastern Tasman Sea and a high centred over northern NSW extends a ridge to the south. The low is expected to slowly weaken over the next couple of days and move to the south. The high and ridge will remain almost stationary over the weekend as a series of weak fronts pass to the south of the state.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPossible isolated light showers in the far southwest. Fine elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds. Dangerous surf conditions along the coast.Friday 3 AugustIsolated showers over the southeastern inland, falling as snow on the Alps. Fine elsewhere. Morning frost areas inland, particularly about the ranges. West to northwesterly winds.Saturday 4 AugustScattered snow showers on the Alps. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas inland. Westerly winds.Sunday 5 AugustScattered snow showers on the Alps. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas inland. Westerly winds.Monday 6 AugustIsolated showers about the southeast inland, with snow on the Alps. Fine elsewhere. Early frost areas inland.
