MELBOURNE - Jul 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high south of Adelaide will move slowly eastwards to be over the eastern states Wednesday evening. A weakening trough will move over the State on Thursday, followed by further weakening troughs at the weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated light showers about the Lower South East clearing by early evening. Cool with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 1 AugustMorning frost with possible fog in the southeast, then a fine day. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeasterly winds, tending fresh north to northwesterly about western coasts.Thursday 2 AugustEarly frost inland then isolated showers developing over western and southern coasts, with possible isolated showers extending over the remaining agricultural areas and southern pastorals. Possible late thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and Lower Eyre Peninsula. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a westerly change moving over the State during the day and reaching the eastern border around midnight.Friday 3 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural districts, possibly extending to southern pastoral areas and the West Coast district. Scattered showers over southern coastal areas during the day. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the west and south.Saturday 4 AugustIsolated showers about agricultural areas easing and contracting southwards during the day. Showers possibly scattered at first about southern coasts. Mild inland with light winds, cool to mild about the coastal districts with moderate northwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon through to midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area and Pastoral districts, with 1 to 5 mm expected over the southern agricultural area. Isolated falls about southern coasts and ranges may reach 5 to 15 mm.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas contracting to the southern coasts and clearing on Monday. Fine on Tuesday.
