Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1036 hPa southeast of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be near Tasmania Tuesday evening. A weak trough will move over the State on Thursday, followed by a cold front on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated light showers about southern coasts, extending over the Lower South East in the late morning then clearing during the afternoon and evening. Early frost inland and possible morning fog about the agricultural areas. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 1 AugustFine after early frosts inland and possible fog patches about the southeast. Cool with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, tending fresh northerly about western coasts.Thursday 2 AugustEarly frost inland then isolated showers developing over western and southern coasts, with possible isolated showers extending over the remaining agricultural areas and southern pastorals. Possible late thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a westerly change in the west.Friday 3 AugustIsolated showers over the agricultural and southern pastorals. Showers becoming scattered over southern coasts during the afternoon. The chance of isolated thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the west and south. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area and Pastoral districts, with 1 to 5 mm expected over the southern agricultural area, possibly reaching 5 to 10 mm over southern coasts and ranges.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas contracting to the southern agricultural area on Monday then to southern coasts Monday evening. Cool to mild grading to warm in the far north on Sunday with light to moderate southwest to northwesterly winds becoming northeast to northwest on Monday. Winds fresh at times in the west and south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
