Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move eastwards and deepen during the weekend. A cold front will move up from the south to cross southern Victoria during Saturday. A strong high pressure system will develop south of the Bight during Sunday and move slowly eastwards towards Tasmania on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers extending to all southern and mountain areas this morning and becoming widespread about the eastern ranges for a period this afternoon. Isolated showers developing over the northern plains. Early fog and frost patches over the northeast. Snowfalls above 1100 metres. Cool to cold with moderate west to southwest wind, freshening during the day and becoming strong about the Gippsland coast.Sunday 29 JulyIsolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges, more extensive about the coast. Snowfalls above 900 metres. Local early frost over the north. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest winds.Monday 30 JulyEarly morning fog and frosts inland. Isolated showers in the south increasing to scattered showers in East Gippsland. A cool to cold and partly cloudy day. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.Tuesday 31 JulyScattered showers in East Gippsland. Isolated showers in remaining southern areas. Widespread inland frost. Dry and mainly sunny over the north. A cool day with a light to moderate southerly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
