MELBOURNE - Jul 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system lies to the south of Victoria. A trough lies through northeastern New South Wales and a second trough lies near the South Australian coast. The first trough will move to the Tasman Sea later today with a southwesterly airstream in its wake. A high pressure system is expected to develop to the west of New South Wales over the weekend bringing a south to southeasterly airstream across most of the state. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the ranges and slopes and southwestern parts of the state, tending scattered near Victorian border. Isolated showers falling as snow above 1200 metres over the southern and central ranges. Possible showers clearing in the northeast with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the northern coast. Northwest to southwest winds.Saturday 28 JulyPossible isolated showers on the slopes and ranges, more likely in the south and falling as snow above 1300 metres in the south. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds.Sunday 29 JulyPossible isolated showers over the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1200 metres. Possible isolated showers developing over the southern and central coast. South to southwest winds.Monday 30 JulyIsolated showers along the central and southern coast. Isolated showers over the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1100 metres.
