Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system lies to the southwest of Victoria. A trough lies through inland New South Wales and a second trough lies along the South Australian coast. The inland trough will move to the northeast of the state later Thursday and on Friday with a southwesterly change along the coast in its wake. A high pressure system is expected to develop to the west of New South Wales over the weekend bring a south to southeasterly airstream across most of the state.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the eastern half of the state, more likely on the ranges, western slopes and parts of the northern coast. Showers falling as snow above 1300 metres on the southern ranges. Northwest winds tending westerly in the west of the state.Friday 27 JulyIsolated showers over the ranges and slopes and southwestern parts of the state. Isolated showers falling as snow above 1200 metres over the southern and central ranges. Isolated thunderstorms over the northern ranges, contracting to the northern coast in the afternoon. Northwest to southwest winds.Saturday 28 JulyPossible isolated showers on the slopes and ranges, more likely in the south and falling as snow above 1300 metres in the south. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds.Sunday 29 JulyPossible isolated showers over the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1200 metres. Possible isolated showers developing over the southern and central coast. South to southwest winds.Monday 30 JulyIsolated showers along the central and southern coast. Isolated showers over the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1100 metres. South to southwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Friday.Product IDN10031
