Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough moving over the central parts of the state and linked to a low south of Victoria triggers showers over eastern half. This trough will clear the northeast on Friday morning followed by another linked trough and associated showers west of the Divide as the low enters the southwestern Tasman Sea. A cold front moving across the Bass Strait will keep showers on the southern slopes on Saturday while the remainder of the state becomes dry under strengthening ridge. From Sunday onwards, a combination of slow moving ridge over the continent and southwesterly airstream in the Tasman Sea will keep showers restricted to the coastal fringe.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly fog and frost patches about the coast and northern slopes and ranges. Isolated showers over eastern half of the state, more likely on the ranges, western slopes and parts of the northern coast and falling as snow above 1300 metres on the southern ranges. West to northwest winds.Friday 27 JulyPossible isolated showers apart from east of the ranges, more likely throughout central and southern inland areas. Isolated showers falling as snow above 1200 metres over the southern and central ranges. West to southwest winds.Saturday 28 JulyIsolated showers and drizzle on the southwest and central slopes, falling as snow above 1300 metres over the southern slopes. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds.Sunday 29 JulyIsolated showers over the southern and central coast. Isolated showers over the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1200 metres.
