MELBOURNE - Jul 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge lies from New Zealand to the eastern parts of New South Wales. This high will continue to move eastwards during Thursday. A cold front entered western New South Wales Wednesday afternoon and is expected to reach the east of the state on Thursday morning. An upper level trough will then move through the state Thursday and Friday ahead of another high pressure ridge which is forecast to extend into western parts of New South Wales during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers developing in the southwest of the state, increasing later in the day and falling as snow above about 1600 metres on the southern ranges overnight. Northwest to northeast winds, turning westerly in the west.Thursday 26 JulyEarly fog and frost patches about the coast and northern slopes and ranges. Isolated showers along the slopes, ranges and southwest of the state, more widespread on the western slopes and falling as snow above 1200 metres on the southern ranges. West to northwest winds.Friday 27 JulyPossible isolated showers apart from east of the ranges, more likely throughout central and southern inland areas. Isolated showers falling as snow above 1200 metres over the southern and central ranges. West to southwest winds.Saturday 28 JulyIsolated showers and drizzle on the southwest and central slopes, falling as snow above 1300 metres over the southern slopes. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds.Sunday 29 JulyIsolated showers over the southern and central coast. Isolated showers over the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1200 metres.
