Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea will move southeastwards. A trough of low pressure over the west of the State will move eastwards across remaining parts during Wednesday. A front is expected to move across southern parts of the State on Thursday and a ridge of high pressure will develop over the north and west by Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the west with possible evening thunder about the western coasts, extending to Kangaroo Island by late evening. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds, shifting fresh and gusty west to southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 25 JulyScattered showers and possible thunderstorms about Eyre Peninsula extending over the remaining southern agricultural areas during the day. Isolated showers extending over the remainder of the agricultural areas and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Cool with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a fresh and gusty west to southwesterly change in the west reaching central districts during the afternoon and the far east in the evening. Winds strong at times about southern coasts.Thursday 26 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms about western coasts, Eyre Peninsula, and remaining southern agricultural areas. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Friday 27 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural areas. Cool with moderate southwesterly winds.Saturday 28 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural areas. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 5 mm over the southern parts of the pastoral districts, 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural areas and far west coast, and 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural areas, increasing to 15 to 25 mm over southern coasts and ranges and locally reaching 30 mm about west facing coasts and slopes.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas, contracting to southern coastal areas by Monday. Cool with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
