Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving low is situated over the eastern Tasman Sea, while a high centred over the Alps extends a ridge over most of the state. This high will remain the dominant feature for New South Wales' weather until Tuesday night, promoting fine conditions over the inland and restricting any shower activity to coastal districts or the eastern slopes of the ranges. A chain of rapidly moving cold fronts is likely to affect the state during Wednesday to Friday followed by a high pressure ridge redeveloping during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers east of the Divide, contracting northwards. Fine west of Divide. East to southeast winds.Tuesday 24 JulyIsolated showers on the north and central coasts. Fine elsewhere. Early frost inland. South to southeasterly winds near the coast, light and variable winds inland.Wednesday 25 JulyIsolated showers developing in the southwest of the state and the southeastern inland, increasing later in the day falling as snow above about 1200 metres on the southern ranges. Northwest to northeast winds, turning westerly in the south.Thursday 26 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes and plains, more widespread on the south west slopes and falling as snow above 1100 metres on the southern ranges. Northwest to southwest winds.Friday 27 JulyPossible isolated showers apart from the far west, far north and far southeast, more likely in the Riverina and the southern Central West Plains.
