Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1034 hPa over eastern Victoria will move over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A trough of low pressure will move over western parts of the State on Tuesday, then extend to remaining parts on Wednesday. A front is expected to move across southern parts of the State on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure develops over the north and west.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and partly cloudy. Cool to mild with light to moderate northerly winds.Tuesday 24 JulyIsolated showers developing in the west during the afternoon and evening, with possible evening thunder about the western coasts. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds, shifting west to southwesterly in the west during the afternoon and evening.Wednesday 25 JulyIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Showers increasing to scattered about Eyre Peninsula, and extending over the southern agricultural areas during the day. Possible thunder about the southern coasts. Cool with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change.Thursday 26 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area with possible thunderstorms. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly winds.Friday 27 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural areas. Cool with moderate southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 5 mm over the southern pastorals, 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural areas, and 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural areas, increasing to 15 to 25 mm over southern coasts and ranges.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas, contracting south by Monday. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
