MELBOURNE - Jul 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over southwestern Victoria will move slowly northeastwards during Monday to be located over the NSW central coast by Tuesday. A low pressure system south of the Bight will move eastwards to be southwest of Victoria by Wednesday night, while an associated cold will enter the west of the State. An upper disturbance will move over Victoria on Thursday with another cold front will entering the southwest towards the evening. Forecast for the rest of SundayPartly cloudy with isolated light showers in the south clearing this evening then areas of fog developing. Clear in the north. Light west to southwesterly winds.Morning frost patches over the northeast.Monday 23 JulyMorning frost patches over the northeast. Widespread areas of morning fog, clearing to a fine and mostly sunny day throughout. A cool to mild day with light south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 24 JulyMorning frost, mainly in the northeast. Areas of morning fog. A cool to mild day, mostly sunny in the east but cloud increasing in the west during the afternoon. Light to moderate northerly winds.Wednesday 25 JulyIsolated showers developing over western districts, extending across inland areas during the day and becoming more frequent in the southwest and about the northeast ranges. Showers possibly extending to Gippsland by the evening and falling as snow above 1200 metres. A cool and mostly cloudy day with moderate northerly winds, freshening and shifting west to northwest in the west.Thursday 26 JulyScattered showers over most districts, although more isolated across East Gippsland, falling as snow above 1000 metres.
