MELBOURNE - Jul 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation The tail end of a weak cold front will continue to affect southern Victoria tonight. A high pressure system over South Australia will move slowly southeastwards to lie just west of Victoria on Saturday. The high will move over Victoria on Sunday and remain close to stationary near northeastern Victoria on Monday and Tuesday. Meanwhile a broad low pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea will be near stationary through this period. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers or drizzle near and south of the ranges. Partly cloudy with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Saturday 21 JulyMorning fog patches. Frost patches over the northeast. Isolated showers possible over the southwest, East Gippsland and near the central coast. A cool day with cloudy periods in the south and mostly sunny in the north. Generally light west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 22 JulyMorning fog patches inland. Frost patches over the northeast. Drizzle patches in the far east but a fine afternoon elsewhere. Partly cloudy in the south, mostly sunny in the north. A cool day with light south to southeasterly winds.Monday 23 JulyMorning frost, mainly in the northeast. Areas of morning fog. A cool and mostly sunny day with cloud increasing over the west in the afternoon. Light winds tending northerly and local afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 24 JulyMorning frost, mainly in the northeast. Areas of morning fog.
