MELBOURNE - Jul 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front will move across Bass Strait and southern Victoria on Friday. A high pressure system developing over South Australia will move slowly southeastwards to lie just west of Victoria on Saturday. The high will become slow moving over Victoria on Sunday and Monday and a broad low pressure system over the northern Tasman sea will also be near stationary. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the far southwest but dry elsewhere. Light to moderate northwesterly winds, fresh about the west and central coast.Friday 20 JulyIsolated showers or drizzle developing near and south of the ranges, scattered about the southwest and central coast. Local early frost or fog in the northeast. Generally cool and partly cloudy with light to moderate west to northwesterly wind, tending southwesterly.Saturday 21 JulyIsolated showers clearing from the southwest but persisting in East Gippsland. Morning fog patches. Local morning frost in the northeast. A cool mostly sunny day with generally light winds.Sunday 22 JulyMorning fog patches inland and local frost. Isolated clearing showers in the far east but a fine afternoon elsewhere. A cool mostly sunny afternoon with light south to southeasterly winds.Monday 23 JulyMorning frost and fog areas, then fine.
