MELBOURNE - Jul 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad trough of low pressure over eastern New South Wales is moving towards the Tasman Sea. A cold front will cross the state Thursday, maintaining cool southerly winds throughout the region as a high strengthens to the west. This high is forecast to be very slow-moving during the next few days, promoting fine weather over the state's inland and restricting shower activity to parts of the coast. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers along the coast, tending scattered about the central coast, and clearing in the south during the day. Possible afternoon thunder in the Hunter district. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas about the southern and central ranges and further west. Morning fog areas, chiefly about the northern ranges and adjacent western slopes. South to southwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty along the central and northern coast.Friday 20 JulyIsolated showers about the central and northern coasts, scattered at times along the coastal fringe. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere, after widespread early frosts. South to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the northern coast.Saturday 21 JulyIsolated showers on the coast except in the far south, tending scattered on the central and mid north coasts and possibly extending to the east of the northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere, after widespread early frosts and morning fog patches. South to southeast winds, fresh to strong near the northern coast.Sunday 22 JulyIsolated showers near the coast, tending scattered in the north. Morning frost patches inland, then a fine and mostly sunny day.
