MELBOURNE - Jul 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure will persist over the north of the state producing a broad westerly flow in the south with a weak trough moving over the Lower South East coast on Friday. The ridge will move southwards on Saturday, then the high centre will move to Victoria on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers about southern and western coastal districts. Morning fog patches. Morning frost patches inland then generally cool with light winds tending moderate west to northwesterly in the south.Friday 20 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered for a period over the southeast, Kangaroo Island, and remaining southern coasts. Morning frost patches in the north then cool to mild with light winds in the north, tending light to moderate northwest to westerly in the south.Saturday 21 JulyIsolated showers south of Kingscote to Naracoorte, and possibly over the remainder south of about Port Neill to Lameroo. Morning frost and fog patches. Cool with light winds.Sunday 22 JulyPartly cloudy. Cool with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Thursday to midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 5 mm over the agricultural areas increasing to 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts and ranges.Monday until WednesdayFine and mostly sunny apart from possible showers about southern coasts on Wednesday.
