high will extend a weakening ridge along the east coast of Queensland. A weak
upper trough will move through southern Queensland on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday
Isolated showers along the east coast, becoming scattered about the Central
and Southeast Coast. Isolated showers through the southern tropics and eastern
interior, tending to patchy rain through the central areas. Fine in the west.
Moderate to fresh S to SE winds in the east, fresh to strong and gusty along the
northern coast. Light to moderate SE to NE winds over the interior.

Isolated showers along the east coast, becoming scattered about the North
Tropical Coast, Central Coast and Southeast Coast. Morning drizzle and light
rain through the central and southeast interior, with isolated showers during
the afternoon and extending into the tropical interior. Isolated thunderstorms
are possible over the far southern areas of the state. Fine in the west.
Moderate to fresh S to SE winds in the east, light to moderate SE to NE winds
over the interior.
Forecast for Thursday

thus allowing drier SW to SE winds to become established across most of the
state. Showers and drizzle will occur before east of the trough, contracting
off the southeast during the day. Isolated showers to persist over northern Cape
York Peninsula.
Forecast for Friday
The high will remain over central Australia while the upper trough will move
off the east coast. A low is expected to develop in the Tasman Sea, extending
dry SW to SE winds across most of the state. Cool conditions over the interior
with early frost areas in the south. Isolated showers along the northern east
coast, and exposed parts off the southeast coast. Strong S to SE winds in the
southeast Gulf of Carpentaria and about the southeast coast.
Forecast for Saturday
The high will move to the southeast as the low pressure system in the Tasman
Sea remains slow moving while deepening. Dry SW to SE winds will continue
through the state, with cool conditions and early frost areas over the southern
and central interior. Isolated showers along the northeast coast and about
exposed parts of the southeast coast. Strong S to SE winds in the southeast,
northeast and southern Gulf of Carpentaria waters.
Outlook for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday
The high will move slowly to the southeast and extend a ridge across the
state as the low in the Tasman Sea remains slow moving. Cool S to SE winds will
persist across the state during the forecast period with early frosts about the
southeast and southern inland. Fine and sunny in most areas. Isolated showers
about the exposed southeast coast and in the northeast tropics. Strong S to SE
winds to continue in the southeast Gulf of Carpentaria and about southeast and
northern tropical coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
