Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will pass over the south of the State today and early Wednesday, then a broad westerly airstream will follow ahead of another front moving over southern parts on Friday. A ridge of high pressure will persist over the north of the State this week
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers about the southern and western coasts, extending to areas southwest of about Whyalla to Lameroo by late evening. Showers tending scattered over central and southern district during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild with moderate north to northwesterly winds in the south, shifting west to southwesterly from the west. Light and variable winds in the north.Wednesday 18 JulyIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and possibly the Flinders and southern pastoral districts before contracting to southern coastal areas in the evening. Showers increasing to scattered about the southern agricultural area during the morning. The chance of local small hail south of about Clare during the morning. Isolated thunderstorms possible about southern coasts and the southeast. Early morning frost patches in the north then cool to mild with generally light to moderate northwesterly winds in the east, shifting southwest to southerly throughout during the day.Thursday 19 JulyIsolated showers about southern and western coastal areas. Morning fog patches in the west. Morning frost patches inland then generally cool with light winds tending moderate west to northwesterly in the south.Friday 20 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Morning frost patches in the north then cool to mild with light variable winds in the north, tending light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds in the south.Saturday 21 JulyPossible showers south of about Port Neill to Lameroo, contracting south and clearing during the evening. Cool with light winds.Accumulated rainfall amounts from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area, 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area increasing to 5 to 15 mm about the South East and southern coasts and ranges, and less than 1 mm over southern pastoral districts.Sunday until TuesdayFine and mostly sunny, then possible showers developing in the far west on Tuesday. Cool with generally light winds, becoming light to moderate northeast to northerly in the west extending throughout towards the end of the period. Winds shifting west to southwesterly in the far west of the state later on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
