MELBOURNE - Jul 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure will persist over the north of the State this week. A cold front will pass over the south late Tuesday and early Wednesday, then a broad westerly airstream will follow. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and mostly clear. Cool with generally light to moderate northerly winds, fresh about southern coasts.Tuesday 17 JulyIsolated showers developing about the southern and western coasts from the late morning and extending to areas southwest of about Whyalla to Lameroo during the evening. Cool to cold at first with early frost inland then a cool to mild day with moderate north to northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly from the west.Wednesday 18 JulyIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and possibly the Flinders and southern pastoral districts before contracting to southern coastal areas in the evening. The chance of local small hail in the south. Isolated thunderstorms possible about southern coasts and the southeast. Early morning frost patches in the north then cool to mild with generally light to moderate northwesterly winds in the east, shifting southwesterly throughout during the day.Thursday 19 JulyIsolated showers about southern and western coastal areas. Morning frost patches then generally cool with light winds tending moderate northwesterly in the south.Friday 20 JulyIsolated showers over agricultural areas. Morning frost patches in the north then cool to mild with light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds turning southerly. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area, 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area increasing to 5 to 15 mm about southern coasts and ranges, and less than 1 mm over southern pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayPossible showers south of about Port Lincoln to Lameroo, contracting south then clearing by Monday.
