Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strengthening high pressure system over central Australia is moving slowly east extending a ridge across New South Wales, while a low pressure trough over the Tasman Sea is gradually weakening. The next cold front is expected to move through the state during Wednesday. as the high moves towards New Zealand and the ridge weakens.
Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of isolated showers about the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1500 metres. Fine elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds.Monday 16 JulyIsolated showers on the southwest slopes and Alpine area, falling as snow about the higher peaks. Areas of morning fog and frost, chiefly inland. Mostly sunny remainder. Light winds.Tuesday 17 JulyIsolated showers on the southwest slopes and Alpine area, falling as snow about the higher peaks. Isolated showers also along the far north coast. Morning fog and frost patches Mostly sunny remainder. North to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 18 JulyPartly cloudy in the northwest. Showers developing elsewhere, falling as snow about the Alps. Northwest to southwest winds.Thursday 19 JulyPartly cloudy in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered over the northern slopes and ranges. Early fog and frost patches.
