Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends over the north of the state and a weak front is passing to the south. The high is expected to move eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea by early Tuesday. A cold front will pass over coastal waters during Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area this morning, extending to remaining parts of the agricultural area during the day. Showers increasing to scattered about the Lower South East during the afternoon. Cool to cold at first with early frost inland. then a cool day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds in the south, strong about southern coasts. Light and variable winds in the north.Monday 16 JulyIsolated showers south of Adelaide with possible showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Showers increasing to scattered about the Lower South East coast in the afternoon. Cool to cold at first with early frost inland. then a cool day with generally light to moderate northerly winds.Tuesday 17 JulyIsolated showers developing about the west coast from late afternoon and extending to parts southwest of about Naracoorte to Ceduna during the evening. Cool to cold at first with early frost inland then a cool to mild day with light to moderate northerly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 18 JulyIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and southern parts of the Pastoral districts before contracting to southern coastal areas in the evening. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate northerly winds in the east, shifting south to southwesterly throughout during the day. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Sunday through to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 4 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 10 to 15 mm about southern coasts and ranges, up to 4 mm over the northern agricultural area and less than 2 mm over the south of the Pastorals.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers about southern and western coastal areas, extending over remaining agricultural areas during Friday morning before contracting to southern coasts late on Friday. Possible showers about southern coasts and ranges and southern Eyre Peninsula an Saturday. Cool to mild with mainly light winds in the north and light to moderate Northwest to southwesterly winds in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
