MELBOURNE - Jul 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low 1006 hPa near Salt Creek will move slowly southeastwards to be near Mount Gambier tonight and over western Bass Strait Saturday morning. A trough of low pressure near Cleve to Kingscote will continue to move across the State, reaching Adelaide tonight and the southeast Saturday morning. A cold front will move eastwards south of the State on Sunday and a high pressure ridge will develop over the north of the state over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms with small hail extending over southwestern districts, extending to central and eastern parts of the southern agricultural area during the day. Isolated showers over the remainder of the northern agricultural area. Isolated showers in the far northeast of the State. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the South East. Cool to cold with moderate southwest to northwesterly winds, freshen about western and central parts.Saturday 14 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area and the West Coast district, contracting to the coast during the evening. Scattered showers about the southern agricultural area during the morning. Possible isolated thunderstorms with small hail about southern coastal areas during the morning. Possible morning fog well inland about the agricultural area. Cool with moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh in the south.Sunday 15 JulyIsolated showers over the west coast and southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered about southern coasts and the South East. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds in the south, strong about southern coasts. Light and variable winds in the north.Monday 16 JulyIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered about the Lower South East coast in the afternoon. Cool with generally light to moderate northerly winds.Tuesday 17 JulyIsolated showers developing about the west coast during the morning, and extending to remaining parts of the West Coast and southern agricultural area during the day. Cool to mild with light to moderate northerly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Friday morning through to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 10 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 15 to 25 mm about southern coasts and ranges, 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and up to 2 mm elsewhere.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers extending to the remainder of the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts on Wednesday, then contracting to the West Coast and agricultural area on Thursday and Friday. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate northerly winds in the east, shifting southwesterly throughout on Wednesday.
