MELBOURNE - Jul 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low 1006 hPa near Salt Creek will move slowly southeastwards to be near Mount Gambier tonight. A trough of low pressure will move across the west of the State reaching Adelaide tonight and across the southeast Saturday morning. A cold front will move eastwards south of the State on Sunday and a high pressure ridge will develop over the north of the state over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms with possible small hail extending over the West Coast during the morning, and extending to the southern agricultural area during the day. Isolated showers over the remainder of the northern agricultural area. Isolated showers in the far northeast of the State. Morning fog patches. Cool to cold with moderate southwest to northwesterly winds, freshening about western and central parts during the day.Saturday 14 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area and the West Coast district, contracting to the coast during the evening. Scattered showers about the southern agricultural area during the morning. Cool with moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh in the south.Sunday 15 JulyIsolated showers over the west coast and southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered about southern coasts and the South East. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds in the south, strong about southern coasts. Light and variable winds in the north.Monday 16 JulyIsolated showers south of about Port Neill to Keith. Cool with generally light to moderate northerly winds. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Friday morning through to midnight Monday are expected to be 10 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 15 to 30 mm about southern coasts and ranges. 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and up to 2 mm elsewhere.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about the coast extending over the West Coast and southern agricultural area on Tuesday and to the remainder of the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate northerly winds shifting southwesterly in the west on Tuesday and throughout on Wednesday.
