MELBOURNE - Jul 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure lies over the west of the state and will move eastwards across the remainder of the state during today. A second trough will move over the south of the state on Friday and Saturday morning. A high pressure ridge will develop over the north of the state over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine over the northwest interior. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Showers increasing to scattered over the agricultural area and the West Coast. Generally cool with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds shifting moderate to fresh southwesterly from the west.Friday 13 JulyScattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and the West Coast district. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Saturday 14 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area and the West Coast district, contracting to the coast during the evening. Scattered showers about the southern agricultural area during the morning. Cool with moderate west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 15 JulyIsolated showers south of about Ceduna to Keith. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds in the south, and light and variable winds in the north. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Thursday through to midnight Sunday are expected to be 10 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and east of the ranges, and up to 2 mm elsewhere. Local falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers contracting to southern coasts and the South East, then extending over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts by the end of the period.
